On 7/27/00, the European Commission
issued its decision that the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles
developed by the U.S. Department of Commerce provide adequate
privacy protection for flows of data from European countries to the
United States. As part of the understanding with the European
Commission, the Department of Commerce is required to set up a
public list so that U.S. organizations can voluntarily self-certify
their compliance with the Principles. The information requested in
this submission from U.S. organizations is needed so that the
Department of Commerce may add the U.S. organizations to the Safe
Habor Privacy
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
