The 83-I and Justification A13 have been revised and included in the final clearance._It is very important that the CDC disclose any deficiencies resulting from low response rates in the population-based samples when discussing the results of this survey.

The Supplement to HIV/AIDS Surveillance (SHAS) Project interviews HIV-infected persons on their sociodemographics, sexual/drug using behaviors, reasons for the time of HIV testing, access to medical/social services, access/adherence to therapy, and disability. This information is used by government at the local, state, and national levels for planning and evaluation prevention programs, and allocating care and service dollars.
