Therefore the only purpose for which this collection can be used
are to assess the relative merits of the CATI and T-ACASI methods.

subject area.

This one-year projects is intended to
determine the feasibility of collecting sensitive information using
computer assisted telephone survey methods. The main activity will
be a pretest of 650 telephone interviews using a standard set of
HIV/STD risk behavior questions. Of these interviews, 325 will use
computer-assisted methods for the most sensitive items and 325 will
be completed interviewer-assisted. A major goals is to develop a
method that minimizes respondents' perceptions of sensitivity and
improves reporting. A second goals is to test the set of standard
HIV/STD risk behavior questions.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies

1320.8(b)(3).
