The IRS will conduct a total of 4
focus groups at the IRS 2001 Nationwide Tax Forums sponsored by the
Small Business and Public Liaison Office. This study uses focus
groups to gather qualitative information about tax professionals
who prepare and file business returns. Through these groups we will
determine tax preparer perceptions and experiences with electronic
filing and payment alternatives, identify product enhancements and
develop marketing recommendations. Through these focus groups we
will also determine what features are desired in electronic payment
options and how to remove barriers for taxpayers and tax
