Abstract: FERC 525 data are used by the Commission to perform limited scope industry-wide audits to identify systematic problems and ensure that companies' financial records conform with the Commission's accounting, financial reporting, and other regulations establish- ed under the mandatory provisions of the Federal Power Act, the Natural Gas Act and the Interstate Commerce Act. These audits involve the books and records of public utilities and licensees, natural gas pipeline companies and oil pipeline carries.
