collection request is approved for three years. Following the next
round of reporting, but not later than June of 2002, EPA should
review the accuracy of the burden estimate provided in this ICR
supporting statement. Specifically, EPA should address the
appropriateness of the assumption of a 50% reduction in respondent
burden due to simplification and streamlining of the reporting
form. In addition, EPA should address the burden associated with
the narrative question on the reporting form (See 9/10/1998 OMB
Terms of Clearance).

As part of the Clean Air Act
Amendments of 1990, the US Congress included, as Section 507, the
requirement that each state estab- lish a Small Business Stationary
Source Technical and Environ- mental Compliance Assistance Program
to assist small businesses in complying with the Act. EPA must
provide the Congress with periodic reports from the EPA Small
Business Ombudsman on these programs, including their
effectiveness, difficulties encounter- ed, and other relevant
informaiton. Each state assistance pro- gram will submit requested
information to EPA for compilation and summarization on an annual
basis.
