Abstract: PASRR is the process of screening and determining whether nursing facility applicants and residents need nursng facility services and specialized care. In conjuction with CMS, SAMHSA will employ a case study design to understand the experience of States with PASR. Multiple data sources, such as documentation, archival records and interviews will be used. Approval is requested for interviews with administrators and staff of a sample of nursing facilities on four States and with a sample of residents in the sampled facilities in two of the States.
