Abstract: The 2002 CFS provides a crucial, unique set of transportation statistics. Results show origin-destination flows of commodities with key characteristics of mode, weight, ton-miles and average miles. These data are needed by transportation policy makers at the federal and local levels to analyze, maintain and improve the transportation infrastructure.
