Terms of Clearance: The Federal Perkins Loan/NDSL Promissory Note has been in use without an OMB control number, which is a violation of the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA). The Department of Education (ED) must report this violation in the ICB. In addition, OMB requests that ED conduct a review of all information collections to verify that they have received OMB clearance under the PRA. This review should include both collections conducted by ED and those conducted on behalf of ED by the higher education community as required by statute or regulation.
