Terms of Clearance: OMB's review time for this new collection expired 10/05/01 at the same time as the deadline for public comments on the final rule. We have recommended to DOT and FAA clearance staff that we file comment to the effect that FAA will evaluate the public comment received and give us a supplemental evaluation or disposition of comment before the final rule takes effect. We would expect this in a reasonable period of time so that unnecessary expenditures are not made during the implementation of the program. We do not offer substantive comments at this time. There were some questions, however, whether the ICR squared with the final regulatory evaluation. FAA staff may want to ensure that a final supporting document take this into account.

Abstract: Information is collected from applicants who wish repair station certification. Applicants submit FAA Form 8310-3 to the appropriate FAA flight standards district office for review. If the application is satisfactory, an onsite inspection is conducted. When all the requirements have been met, an air agency certificate and repair station operations specifications with appropriate ratings and limitations are issued.
