Forest Service requires eligible Counties and State to provide a decision as to whether they want to continue receiving payments under the 1908 Act ("25 Percent Fund Act") or accept the full payment amount under the new law, PL 106-393, The Secure Rural Schools and Community Self Determination Act of 2000. In addition, those eligible counties receiving more than $100,000 under the new Act must reserve 15-20 percent of their funds for special projects and must decide whether to reserve those funds for Title II, Title III or both Titles of the Act.
