The purpose of this data collection is to assess human exposure to microcystin in drinking water provided by public water systems. The study will focus on serum levels of microystins and hepatotoxicity. The reuslts from this study will be useful to health agencies in states where seasonal or year round blue-green algae blooms occur in drinking water sources and where the drinking water treatment protocols do not include components that would remove cyanobacterial toxins from the water before it is distributed to the community.
