for the evaluation of "Extending the Reach" grants. If NEH plans to
undertake evaluations of other grant programs using the same format
and methodology, they shall submit an ICW form (83-C) updating the
burden calculations. If NEH needs to make minor changes to the
format of the survey used in the evaluation, they shall submit an
ICW form with a memo describing the changes and justifying those
changes. OMB will make decisions on each change on a case-by-case
basis.

The National Endowment for the
Humanities is seeking a general clearance authority to develop
evaluaiton instruments for its grant programs. These evaluation
instruments will be used to collect information from NEH grantees
from one to three years after the grantee has submitted the final
performance report.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
