Rule 53, certain registered
holding company financings in connection with the acquisition of
one or more exempt wholesale generators or foreign utility
companies.
Extension without change of a currently approved collection
Under section 32(h)(6) of the Public
Utility Holding Company Act of 1935, the Commission was required to
promulgate rules to protect the interests of investors and
consumers of registered systems investing in exempt wholesale
generators and foreign utility companies. If certain standards
contained in Rule 53 are satisfied, the Commission may approve
other proposed transactions without considering the effects on the
system of the earnings and capitalization of any current EWG or
FUCO investment.
