The American Thoracic Society and the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued new
recommendations for targeted TB testing and treatment regimens for
persons with latent TB infection (LTBI) in April, 2000. Information
is needed to identify potential barriers to the acceptance,

LTBI guidelines. This research will also identify ways to overcome
identified barriers and will guide the development of innovative
education and communication messages and maerials to supplement the
guidelines.
