Fishermen participating on the Pacific
albacore tuna fishery are asked to voluntarily complete and submit
logbooks documenting their catch and effort on fishing trips.
Persons possessing High Seas Fishing Compliance Act permits are
required to submit such logbooks. The information obtained is used
by the agency to assess the status of albacore stocks and to
monitor the fishery.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
