This collection is used to identify foreign nationals as being eligible for exchange visitor (J-1) status. Participating organizations, designated by the U.S. Department of State, provides the information on the individual participants through the completion of the Form DS-2019. The completed form, containing the signature of the responsible officer of the designated US organization then forwards the completed form to the potential participant. The participant takes the form to the American Embassy or Consultant in the home country to apply to the visa. If approved, the Form DS-2019 is presented to the
