revise the race/ethnicity question in this application to comply
with OMB's Standards for the Classification of Federal Data on Race
and Ethnicity, issued October 30, 1997. In addition, the agency
must review its Privacy Act statement to ensure that each routine
use includes the assurance that the Peace Corps retains the
responsibility to review all requests for Privacy Act information
and only release information when directly relevant to the purposes
for the request.

The Peace Corps Volunteer Application
form is submitted by all applicants and provides information to
staff as to qualifications and placement for Peace Corps Volunteer
service. Information furnished is used to screen qualified and
unqualified candidates. The information is also used for proper
placement of potential Volunteers.
