Approved for one year to give VA sufficient time to complete the data collection phase of this study as given on p. 9 of the Supporting Statement. VA will carefully consider the sample size and sample design in making estimates and comparisons between different service branches. The sample size was not designed to permit subgroup estimates or comparisons for all service branches and results of these analyses are to be interpreted cautiously. In addition, VA will conduct analyses to assess potential biases by comparing the characteristics of the respondents to nonrespondents and to persons who were not located using the information available in the DMDC database. VA will share the results of these analyses with OMB prior to publication or dissemination of the study findings.
