race/ethnicity served, but will select randomly from a frame
including all sites in existence at least 5 years and not
considered "atypical" or "outliers." (2) Case studies will be used
to proivde "amplification" of data from census interviews and to
provide specific examples. Case study data will not be considered
to be representative or generalizable.

The goal of the LSAMP Program is to
increase substantially the quantity and quality of underrepresented
minority students receiving bachelor's degrees in Science,
Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics. Evaluation results will be
used to assess program impact, to inform management of the Program,
and to enable NSF to respond to GPRA reporting requirements.
Respondents will include LSAMP staff, faculty, students, and
alumni.
