The purpose of this project is to
develop a system for conducting statistically robust surveys of
commercial pilotes to measure NAS safety levels, safety trends and
the impass of new technologies and procedures. When fully
implemented, NASA wil use these data to actively monitor the safety
of the national aviation system through measurement of NAS safety
levels (incident rates), detection and interpretation of safty
trends, and ongoing evolution of the impact of new technologies and
procedures using a scientifically rigorous design.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
