Participants in the Gulf of Mexico
stone crab fishery in the exclusive economic zone off Florida are
required to obtain Federal fishing permits under a new trap
limitation program. That program complements the stone crab trap
limitation program implemented by Florida in that State's waters.
As part of the Federal process, persons found ineligible may appeal
NOAA's ineligibility determination through an appeals process. NOAA
needs information from the applications for the identification of
fishing vessels by area and the management of the
fisheries.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
