The regulations require any entities with very large positions in certain Treasury securities to keep records and file reports of such positions. The proposed amendments would make modifications to the large position report to improve the information available to Treasury and other regulators to better understand the causes of market shortages in certain Treasury securities. This helps ensure the liquidity and efficiency of the Treasury securities market and the fair treatment of investors.
