This study is
approved with the following conditions: The $25 incentive to
participants is approved. If CDC wants to provide reimbursement for
travel and/or childcare, total payment to any individual
participant shall not exceed $30. CDC is reminded that the
interpretation of these data should be broad and reflect the
qualitative nature of this study.__The study consists of a
convenience sample that will not be representative of the national
population of foreign-born persons. The analysis and dissemination
of the study results should reflect this.

The proportion of tuberculosis cases
among foreign-born persons is increasing dramatically and the TB
incidence rare for foreign-born persons is higher thant for US-born
persons. This study will provide TB programs with formative
research findings to use when designing future surveys, planning
interventions, and evaluating programs to improve TB screening and
adherence to therapy among foreign born persons.
