The collection
of information described in this package is part of a longitudinal
study to evaluate the NCI Science Enrichment Program. NCI has
sponsored the collection of this information since 1998 without OMB
approval. This is a violation of the Paperwork Reduction Act and
must be reported in this year's Information Collection Budget. In
addition, when reporting the results of this evaluation NCI will
describe the different testing conditions between the treatment and
control groups.

This evaluation of the NCI Science
Enrichment Program (SEP) will assess the effectiveness of the SEP
in making progress toward its goals of 1) encouraging
under-represented minority nd under-served students who have just
completed ninth grade to select careers in science, mathematics,
and/or research, and 2) boradening and enriching students' science,
research and soicocultural backgrounds.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
