Department of Interior's next request to extend this information
collection, the Agency shall describe the outcome of efforts
underway to accomodate the electronic submission of data and to
what extent those efforts have decreased burden. The Agency shall
also include in its estimate the number of hours needed to collect
the information submitted in this form.

MMS uses the information to determine
the conditions of a drilling site to avoid hazards inherent in
drilling operations. We use the information to evaluate the
adequancy of respondents' drilling, well-completing, well-workover,
and well-abandonment plans and equipment to determine if the
proposed operations will be conducted in an operationally safe
manner that provides adquate protection for the environment.
Respondents are Federal OCS lessees and operators.
