Approval for Transfers of Certain Source Materials by Specific
Licensees.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commissions
(NRC) is proposing to amend its regulations to require NRC approval
for transfers from licensees of quantities of source material that
is less than 0.05 percent by weight to persons exempt from
licensing require- ments under 40.13(a). The object of this
proposed action is to ensure that the regulations regarding
transfers of materials containing low concentrations of source
material are adequate to protect public health and safety.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
