National Institute for Occupational
Safety and Health (NIOSH) has a need for an anthropometric database
containing face size and its distribution of respirator users who
reply on respirators to prevent work-related respiratory illnesses,
injuries and death. The database will be used to establish fit-test
panels representative of today's workers so that NIOSH's assessment
of respirator performance characteristics can be as accurate as
possible. The data can also be used for design and sizing of
respirators and other personal protective devices such as eyewear.
