Abstract: Form BC/BC(SA) is required by law and is designed to collect timely information on international portfolio capital movements including own U.S. dollar claims of depository institutions, bank and financial holding companies, brokers and dealers vis-a-vis foreigners. This information is necesary for compliing the U.S. balance of payments accounts, calculating U.S. international investment position, and formulating U.S. international financial and monetary policies.
