These regulations implement Section 923(g) of the Gun Control Act of 1968. In general, these regulations require Federal Firearms Licensees to conduct an annual inventory of their firearms, and clarify who is responsible for reporting firearms that are lost or stolen in transit. The collection of information are in 27 CFR 178.39a & .130.
