This paperwork
is approved for two years on the following conditions: 1) CNCS
recognizes that distributing instructions and/or applications and
collecting the paperwork before OMB approval is a violation of the
Paperwork Reduction Act. This violation willl be reported in OMB's
annual Information Collection Budget. In the future, CNCS will not
distribute hard copies or post PRA electronic versions of any draft
instructions or application forms without first consulting the OMB.
In addition, all parts of the application forms and instructions,
including the application deadline and submission information and
appendices, will be included in future clearance packages.vised to
read: 2) CNCS will edit the application instructions to add the PRA
mandated disclosure statement including the collection's OMB
number, expiration date and expected burden. To eliminate possible
confusion between the CNCS eGrants system and the future
government-wide E-Grants initiative, CNCS will revise the modified
424 forms to read: "Modified Standard Form 424 (Rev. 04/2003 to
conform to the CNCS eGrants system)". See, for example, the Senior
Corp Grant Application, OMB 3045-0035. In addition, CNCS will
revise the "Apply Online Using the eGrants System" section and add
the following statement: "The CNCS eGrants system website will
serve applicants and grantees until the government-wide, E-Grants
portal is available for use. It is CNCS's intention to participate
in this E-Grants initiative when it becomes available."ion deadline

The data collection effort will
provide information required by the Corporation for National and
Community Service to enable it to make effective decisions
concerning the use of grant funds. Applications will be accepted
from eligible nonprofit organizations. State Education Agencies,
and State Commissions to apply for grant assistance to establish
community service and service-learning programs.
