requirements, and corresponding burden change, associated with the
Single Shift Sample proposed rule are not approved at this time.
MSHA is reviewing comments submitted on the proposed rule, and will
address any comments related to the paperwork requirements or
burden estimate in the preamble to the final rule.

Coal Mine operators are required to
collect and submit respirable dust samples to MSHA for analysis.
Pertinent information associated with identifying and analyzing
these samples is submitted on the dust data cards that accompanying
the samples.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
