Terms of Clearance: Census is testing Internet reporting optiosn for multi-industry respondents. OMB will be notified via email as soon as this reporting option becomes available for ALL M3 respondents. Census is strongly encouraged to utilize various methods to improve number of companies reporting monthly data. The next OMB clearance submission should address specific activities undertaken to reduce nonreporters.

These statistics are an essential part of the development of the gross domestic product (gdp), and the survey is designated a "Principal Federal Economic Indicator" by the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.
