The Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
collects and uses the information required under the Federal Cave
Resources Protection Act of 1988 which requires identification,
protection and maintenance, to the extent practical, of significant
caves on lands managed by the Department of the Interior. Federal
agencies must consult with cavers and other interested parties to
develop a listing of significant caves. We need this collec- tion
of information to: (1) determine which caves will be listed as
significant; and (2) determine whether to grant access to
confidential cave information.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
