Abstract: The proposed rule, "Risk-Informed Categorization and Treatment of Structures, Systems and Components," would allow licensees to implement alternative less prescriptive and burdensome "special treatment" requirements of structures, systems, and components of low safety-significance, but would require on-going evalu- ations and categorization records be kept to ensure safety stan- dards are maintained.
