Section 1611(e)(5) of the Social Security Act precludes eligibility for SSI benefits for certain fugitives and probation and parole violators. SSA will use the information collected to suspend SSI benefits for fugitives and parole violators that are fleeing to avoid prosecution for a crime, fleeing to avoid custody or confinement after conviction for a crime or violating a condition of probation or parole. 20 CFR 416.708 specifies that anyone meeting these conditions must report it to SSA.
