collection provisions at 30 CFR 75.1101-23, as indicated in the
supporting statement of this package, have been redesignated as 30
CFR 75.1502 by the final rule "Mine Evacuations During Emergencies
in Underground Coal Mines." This change is noted, and MSHA shall
update the citation in the next submission of this package.

Required underground mine operators to
submit to MSHA for approval, a plan for the instruction of miners
in firefighting and evacuation procedures to be followoed in event
of an emergency. In addition, fire drills are to be conducted
quarterly, equipment tested, and a record kept of the drills and
testing results.
