The United States Patent and Trademake
Office (USPTO) records patent and trademark assignment documents,
including transfers of properties (i.e., patents and trademarks),
liens, licensee, assignments of interest security interests,
mergers, and other documents that show the transfer of owership of
applications, patents, or trademarks from one entity to another.
Once the documents are recorded, they are available to the public
except for those documents that are sealed under secracy orders or
related unpublished patent applications. The USPTO developed cover
sheets in order to obtain from the public all of the date
