Under a permit arrangement, prospective importers of African rodents must submit a plan to CDC for the importation and quarantine if they wish to import African rodents. The plan must address disease prevention procedures to be carried out in every step of the chain of custody of such monkeys, from embarkation in the country of origin to release from quarantine.
