The Underage Drinking Prevention
Public Education Program is a comprehensive initiative to educate
youth ages 9 - 13 and their adult caregivers about the harms
associated with underage alcohol use, with the goal to decrease
underage alcohol use by increasing knowledge and skills of youth
and their caregivers. The evaluation is a longitudinal survey in 10
program sites and 5 comparison sites of a sample of 4th graders and
their caregivers. Caregivers and youth will complete telephone
interviews at baseline, prior to program implementation, and then
annually for 4 years.
