Abstract: This study will survey the potential impacts of OCS activities on bowhead whale hunting activities in the Beaufort Sea. There groups will be interviewed to gather pertinent information: Native Alaskan households, whaling captains, and high school seniors and juniors. MMS and the Secretary of the Interior will use the information gathered to make informed leasing and de- velopment decisions about the Beaufort Sea. The information will be used in environmental impact statements, environmental assessments, and 5-year plans.
