Abstract: This project will involve testing the effectiveness of a culturally appropriate diabetes education intervention among African American adults diagnosed with diabetes. The project will also examine whether factors such as financial resources, psychological functioning, social support, family processes, religosity, racism, etc. indirectly influence diabetes self-management and metabolic control.
