This ICR would make additions to the
existing recordkeeping and reporting requirements applicable to
refiners, importers, marketers, distributors, retailers and others
regarding the sulfur content of motor vehicle gasoline they handle.
The info collected would by used by the Agency to insure compliance
with the standards regarding the sulfur content of gasoline. Info
on the generation, use, balance and transfer of sulfur credits
would be used to verify that emission credits transactions are
valid. This oversight would ensure the realization of the emissions
benefits of the proposed gasoline sulfur control program.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
