We are proposing to amend the fruits
and vegetables regulations to allow the import, under certain
conditions, of clementines, mandarines, and tangerines from Chile
into the US. Based on the evidence in a recent pest risk assessment
and an accompanying risk management document, we believe the
articles can be safely imported from all provinces of Chile,
provided certain conditions are met. This proposed rule would
provide for the import of clementines, mandarins, and tangerines,
from Chile into the US while continuing to protect the US against
the introduction of plant pests.
