Reductions in cncer risks are among the most important and tangible benefits resulting from a variety of environmental, food safety and other public health initiatives. Nevertheless, little is known about how individuals value reducing cancer risks relative to other types of risks. While the impirical literature has focused almost exclusively on accidental (occupational and/or automobile) fatalities, it is often argued that differences between the characteristics of cancer risks and accidential risks may lead to significant idferences in how they are valued (as measured by willingness-to-pay (WTP). ..........................
