collection provision associated with the High- Voltage Continuous
Mining Machine Standards for Underground Coal Mines proposed rule
is not approved at this time. MSHA will examine public comment in
response to the NPRM and will describe in the preamble of the final
rule how the agency has maximized the practical utility of the
collection and minimized its burden.

To maintain the safe use of
high-voltage continuous mining machines in underground coal mines
by requiring testing, examination and maintenance on machines to
reduce fire, electrical shock, ignition and operation
hazards.
