Abstract: The Commission "designates" private entities called Telecommunication Certification Bodies (TCBs) to approve (at the option of the applicant) certain equipment subject to certification. These TCBs may also be designated based on the recommendation of foreign accrediting bodies, which is a step in implementing Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs).
