This information is for the
implementation and operation of the Voluntary Scrapie Flock
Certification Program. Only enrolled flocks will be responding to
the information requested. The interstate movement of sheep and
goats from States that do not follow effective flock management
will be restricted. We also require animal identification of sheep
and goats moving interstate and also have a scrapie indemnity
program to compensate owners of certain animals destroyed due to
scrapie. These activities will help prevent the interstate spread
of scrapie, an infectious disease of sheep and goats.
