This ICR requests clearance of EPA's
review and approval process for determining Tribe eligibility to
carry out the Clean Air Act (CAA). Tribes may choose to submit a
CAA eligibility determina- tion and a CAA program applicatiion to
EPA at the same time for approval and EPA will review both
submittals simultaneously. EPA will use this information to
determine if a Tribe meets the statutory criteria under section
301(d) of the CAA and is quali- fied for purposes of implementing
an Air Quality Program. Sec- tion 114 of the CAA is the authority
for the collection of infor- mation.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
