Abstract: The purpose of this information request is to assist the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in an investigation into the illegal sale and use of the highly toxic sodium cyanide as a fumigant (pesticide) in beehives. Sodium cyanide is manufactured and sold for industrial uses and is being diverted at some point in the channels of trade. Because of the highly toxic nature of sodium cyanide, the EPA needs to move quickly with this ICR to stop this illegal diverson.
